Allow sales workers to view, on-the-go, their performance targets, customized maps, and lead data
THE CHALLENGE
Design an advanced map feature to help sales workers optimally plan their day
THE PROCESS
DESIGN SPRINT
We started with a design sprint at the client site to prioritize what is important to the sales workers. After several user interviews, we figured out that their biggest pain point is prioritizing their leads and optimizing their route to maximize the amount of client visits a day. We ended up iterating a low-fid prototype of the main features that users sought: performance dashboard, maps overlay, call list, and route optimizer.

USER JOURNEY CREATION
A user journey was created to identify the "moments of truth" in the future state, and where our technology could improve the process.

LOW-FIDELITY WIREFRAME
Designing the complex map feature took many iterations. We decided to create 3 tabs in the feature: map, list, and route. The "map" tab allows users to visualize the leads, hot leads, and fiber cables in their assigned region. On this "map" tab, users can "star"/shortlist the leads they want to visit that day. Automatically, these leads are transferred to the "list" tab, where users can quickly call or text their leads to notify them they they'll be visiting that day. Finally, users can click the "route" tab, where our algorithm maps out the quickest route to visit all the leads that they shortlisted.

VISUAL DESIGN & INTERACTION MAP

THE RESULT
This application is able to help Sales rep move from being laptop-based to an on-the-go mobile-based workflow where the sales representatives are able to view their specific performance targets, sales specific data from SFDC, fiber details with customized maps, and additional business info of their leads with google based maps solution helping them to make effective sales planning in a user friendly way.
